Serving in Mission is a great opportunity to see God working over six decades. Linda and I were raised in this community, went to school with many who still call Mission home, and have seen friends become parents and grandparents. It is an amazing experience to witness growth in life. In the same way we are watching growth in the lives of people who have found life in the good news of Jesus. Our invitation is always an invitation to something deeper, something greater, something amazing. I love to connect and reconnect with the people of Mission because there is a sense of community here.
As Family Ministries Pastor Doug brings many years of experience in working with minions (children and youth). He is the fearless leader of AWANA, is the mastermind behind our Bible Adventures program, and is always trying to figure out new ways to conquer the world for Jesus. Doug also uses his passion for basketball to connect into the community and inspire young minions to love the game and gain new skills. Doug & Jenny also enjoy counselling soon-to-be-marrieds and preparing them for their futures together. Young Families are where they invest their time to raise up the next generation of world changers (not moon stealers)!
We met at Columbia Bible College a couple years into the Outdoor Leadership program. Both of us entered into the program because of a love for the outdoors and for an exciting adventure. As we grew closer together and progressed through Bible College we found our passion in leadership ministry. Leslie came from a background of service in youth ministry for years and I was focused in worship ministry at Living Hope Christian Fellowship. This eventually grew to both of us serving with the youth group at Living Hope and we found huge passion in influencing and discipling students. We are pleased to be at Cedar Valley to work for the youth ministry and inspire a community of faith and outreach!
My husband Terry and I came to CVMC after moving to Mission in 2011 before the birth of our son. Our son was born nine weeks premature and we were shown the love of Jesus by a community we did not even know and who did not know us and we have been at CVMC ever since. We now have two beautiful children who keep us hopping. We are thrilled to be serving as a part of the CVMC team.
Before serving at CVMC, I worked as an administrator for the Federal Government after graduating from SFU with a degree in history and English.
My vision for CVMC is to see the love of Jesus that we as believers know impact our community as we build relationships with those we encounter in our daily interactions with people in our neighborhoods, places of work, grocery stores, parent groups, seniors homes and every other place we go.
